In their released statement, the central spokesperson of Baloch Students Organization-Azad said that a woman, namely Noor Jan, was the victim of enforced disappearance and, thereafter, baseless allegations were put on the woman, meanwhile, forces opened fire on the gathered people for protest. Such acts from the state forces are the manifestation of the ongoing barbarism in Balochistan, in which no kind of gender, human and national values are kept above the odds.
He said that the state, continuously violating human rights in Balochistan, is committing critical crimes. Sometimes, innocent Baloch is shot at, and other times they are made the targets of enforced disappearances and held in prisons. The state is using violence to fuel its occupancy and continue its exploitation in Balochistan. However, in the last few years, this wave of violence has been steadily increasing, which is very concerning.
He further said that in the last few weeks, the state forces had victimized dozens of Baloch youth by enforced disappearances from Balochistan and the other cities of Pakistan putting them into torture cells. The series of enforced disappearances is the continuation of the Baloch genocide that the state has been pursuing for decades. The series of genocide is sometimes introduced in the shape of enforced disappearances, sometimes the masses are subjected to indiscriminate shooting, and sometimes thousands of people are killed in the form of various diseases without access to facilities like water. Where serious human rights violations are on rising in Balochistan by Pakistan, the silence of the international human rights bodies is also a question mark on the role of the institutions.
At the end of his statement, he said that the need of the time was that the Baloch people should examine these state policies of genocide and stand like an iron wall against these policies. The international organizations for human rights should hold Pakistan accountable for the ongoing human rights violations in Balochistan so that the masses of Balochistan no longer fall prey to state oppression.
