The Baloch Students Organization Azad has successfully conducted its 24th Central Council Session.
Zarrain Baloch has been elected as Chairperson, and Mehrdar Baloch as Secretary General
“People from every field of Baloch society are urged to embrace the philosophy of BSO Azad and to fulfill their responsibilities with integrity in the national liberation struggle, so that together we succeed in re-establishing our Independent national state.”
Chairperson Zarrain Baloch
The Baloch Students Organization Azad’s 24th Central Council Session presided by former chairperson Drapshan Baloch in memory of “Martyr Kambar Chakar” and in name of “anonymous figures who have consistently stood firm and are fighting for Baloch National liberation” was concluded successfully. The three-day session was held in December, during which Zarrain Baloch was elected as chairperson and Mehrdar Baloch as Secretary General of the organisation.
The three-day session encompassed the following agendas: the address by former Chairperson, constitutional amendments, the biennial General Secretary’s report, a criticism session, organizational affairs, discussions on national and international political situations, upcoming policies and election, and the concluding speeches delivered by both the outgoing and newly elected Chairperson of the organization.
On the first day of the session, Chairperson Drapshan addressed the councillors. Following his speech, amendments to the constitution were introduced. The day concluded with the General Secretary presenting the organization’s biennial report to the councilors.
The second day began with a criticism session, during which comrades emphasized that within a revolutionary organization, criticism is the process through which we reflect upon our past and present work, identify weaknesses, and address those weaknesses that may be harmful to the organization. Criticism, however, must always serve collective purposes. It should be carried out honestly and fearlessly to safeguard the interests of the national movement. Through criticism, we protect ourselves from deviating from our ideology and cause, ensuring that we consistently adhere to the principles of the revolutionaries. The tradition of genuine criticism should not be confined to our organization alone, but must be extended throughout the entire liberation movement. In every aspect of the struggle, we must cultivate a critical perspective that enables us to identify weaknesses within the movement and, through effective measures, resolve those shortcomings. It has been the tradition of BSO to never shy away from criticism. Instead, the organization has welcomed it and earnestly sought to address its weaknesses. We believe that without genuine criticism, our revolutionary process and actions may be compromised and fail to align with the correct principles. If our work does not adhere to these principles and accountability is absent within the organization, we can never achieve our ultimate goal—the independence of the Baloch nation.
Under the agenda of organizational affairs, the comrades discussed the current needs of the Baloch liberation movement and proposed new strategies and policies for the organization. After proposing new policies and detail discussion on these, the second day of the session was concluded.
On the third day of the session, national and international political situations were brought under discussion, followed by debate on the agenda concerning upcoming strategies and the election proceedings.
In the first part of the agenda, titled Upcoming policies, two yearly new programs and policies of the organization were formally adopted. In the second part, the previous Central Body of the organization was dissolved, and the election session was initiated.
The Election Commission, chaired by chairperson Drapshan Baloch along with two other members, oversaw the proceedings. During the session, comrades submitted their nominations for the new leadership of the organization. The election process was successfully concluded, and the names of the newly elected Cabinet Members and Central Committee were announced before the Council.
The newly elected leadership includes chairperson Zarrain Baloch, secretory general Mehrdar Baloch and spokesperson Sholaan Baloch.
The oath ceremony to the new leadership was given by the former Chairperson, Drapshan Baloch. Following the oath-taking ceremony, a speech session was held, featuring addresses by both the outgoing and incoming chairpersons.
Former Chairperson Drapshan Baloch addressed the session, and said that, “Today, I stand before you to extend my heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected leadership of the organization. I sincerely hope that you will work with greater dedication than ever before, committing your full energy and potential to the struggle. I urge you to be prepared to sacrifice your blood and sweat in pursuit of Balochistan’s independence.
As for myself, my journey in the BSO has now come to an end, and this moment is deeply painful for me. This is a very difficult time, because the BSO has cared for me since the very beginning. It nurtured me, and it taught me both the political and human values of life. The BSO has been my teacher, my family, my friends, and truly, my entire life. BSO deserves beyond our mere acknowledgement, for it is through this organization that the political process of the Baloch liberation movement has continued without interruption. It has stood firm even in the face of difficult times, remaining steadfast in its commitment to the cause. The BSO has not only provided political education to the youth and the nation but has also played a leading role in guiding the national movement. This long journey has been marked by many difficulties. From its creation until today, the BSO has endured state crackdowns, resisted opportunism, and countered external forces that sought to divert it from its path. It has confronted numerous non-revolutionary ideas and behaviors, yet the ideological strength of its cadres and leaders has safeguarded the organization against all challenges and influences. They have preserved the national and revolutionary character of the BSO and consistently aligned it with its true cause—the independence of the Baloch nation.
Chairperson Drapshan further addressed the session, stating: ‘In this long journey, there are two groups who have been our source of strength and hope. The first are our martyred heroes, who have given us hope and inspired us not only to remain part of this national struggle but also to work harder and harder for it. The second are those courageous, anonymous figures who have sacrificed their names, their identities, and everything they had for this movement. Yet, they never complain of fatigue and continue to struggle tirelessly for the cause. The Baloch liberation struggle requires revolutionary workers and leaders who can endure countless hardships and pain, and who are willing to sacrifice everything for the nation. These are individuals who fulfill their duty to the national struggle without seeking identity, recognition, or praise. In our struggle, thousands have already sacrificed their lives, and many more remain ready to do so. Yet we must understand that those of us who are alive must continue to struggle relentlessly until we achieve freedom. Guided by this ideology, we must strengthen our revolutionary process and actions, leaving no room for weakness or fatigue. Our focus must remain on study, revolutionary discipline, and unwavering commitment to the national struggle.’
Chairperson Drapshan further stated: ‘Our people are capable and possess the ability to achieve much more, yet these abilities and energies are often wasted due to non-revolutionary behaviors that have consistently undermined our potential. Instead of dedicating our strength to the national struggle, we have witnessed our youth, whether consciously or unconsciously, become entangled in useless and unimportant discussions and confusions, which have distracted them from the revolutionary path. A Baloch youth born in Baloch land must be different from other youths of the world, for they are born in an occupied land. Their character and actions must carry weight; they must devote themselves to collective duty and be part of the collective struggle. Whatever ability or skill they possess in any field should be directed toward the national struggle. A member of the BSO must strengthen themselves ideologically and philosophically, and take their duty seriously. They must remain honest with their organization, for only then can they serve the national struggle effectively. They must protect themselves and their society from the influence of the enemy state. Therefore, Baloch youth must strive to become capable in every field, so that they can safeguard their history, defend their nation, and ultimately achieve the freedom of their homeland.’
After the former chairperson’s speech in the second part, newly elected chairperson addressed the session.
The newly elected Chairperson Zarrain Baloch in his speech stated that he congratulates the newly elected central committee and his suggestion to them is that they must not consider their responsibilities just as positions rather they must take them as national duties and play their effective role in the Baloch National Struggle For Freedom. In the following two years they must strengthen the BSO ideologically and structurally on scientific foundations with their courage and hard work.
BSO has witnessed every sort of hardness and hurdles in its political struggle but confronted them bravely. History witnesses that even after facing external and internal crisis, BSO has not stepped back from its revolutionary ideology and action in the Baloch National Struggle for freedom.
Individuals have strengthened BSO but at some places, individual elements have tried in unsuccessful attempts to weaken BSO But the revolutionary discipline has not only confronted them successfully but developed the organisation hence BSO has proved in its political journey that individuals cannot be stronger and higher than institutions and national struggle.
Political objectives are the highest symbols of revolutionary institutions. For that reason the workers of BSO have not only safeguarded it but promoted and they have worked to strengthen it ideologically.
This institution is a national heritage and its protection and development does not rely only on its members but Baloch masses and youths also have a major responsibility to own the ideology and instructions of the institution and follow it. Though someone is not a member but he/she must adopt the philosophy and ideology of BSO as a national duty in order to protect his/her self from the conspiracies and strategies of the enemy. Youth from any corner of the world can give their precious contribution in the National Struggle by practicing the ideology and objectives of BSO whose benefits ultimately comes to the nation collectively. Whatsoever the fronts of Baloch Nation are, youth must adopt the ideology of BSO and serve those fronts in the National struggle.
Chairperson further stated in his speech that today’s Baloch National Struggle demands much from the masses and youth and fulfilling these demands is the highest need of contemporary time. At every phase BSO is strengthening ideologically. That is why its workers and other youth must not be prepared for the national struggle only but they have to play their due role in the national struggle with new policies and skills. As we are struggling for the reformation of our state then we have must adopt the same psyche and work on long term policies. To promote the psyche of the state formation, we have to learn lessons from all weaknesses and laziness of past and continue ahead. Baloch youth never step back from sacrifice and due to the sacrifices of the martyrs today our heads are proudly held high and we are getting courage to struggle. But those martyrs must not be some characters for us only but following their philosophy, we must spend our life with their cause to extend it ahead. For that Baloch youth including all classes must bind themselves faithfully with the National struggle and they have to sensibly fulfil whatever responsibilities bestowed upon them so that we will be able to get our collective objectives by fulfilling small and large duties. And Every worker of BSO in individual capacity must have a different and long term policy for the institution and the National struggle so that they may contribute in filling the gaps in the National Struggle influentially.
Today Baloch Nation is suffering from every kind of cruelty and Barbarism. This is the evidence that our masses have always stood with the National struggle that after bearing so much barbarism and sacrifice, they are standing against the enemy and continued the struggle. Everyone is fulfilling their national duties. History reminds us that every dark night has a glorious dawn, this optimism does not lie in the hearts of the nation only But they are so much strong ideologically that they do not step back from sacrificing their lives. But Today’s world and the national struggle demands more, Baloch youth including people from other fields must step in the National struggle soon and cleverly. Since whatever we have done in the past are little for the national struggle, we have to take more tasks, more responsibility on our shoulders in succeeding the national struggle so that we may get our objective of an Independent Balochistan and succeed in the reformation of Baloch national state.
After completing all the agendas successfully, the newly elected secretary general Mehrdar Baloch with permission of chairperson formally concluded the Baloch Students Organization Azad’s 24th Central Council Session in memory of “Martyr Kambar Chakar” and in name of “anonymous figures who have consistently stood firm and are fighting for Baloch National liberation”.
