The Philosophy of November 13: A Legacy to be Followed by the Collective Spirit

Editorial

November 13 is not only a day to be celebrated but a reminder that we are a living nation and need to live proudly with all of the great sacrifices we have made in the war of liberation. The resistance against the occupying enemy is not a matter of emotional distress but a fact that our land and nation mean a lot. This is not a circumstantial occurrence, but a claim of our collective strength, will, and consciousness.

On this day (i.e, 13th of November 1839), Mir Mihrab Khan (then Khanate of Baloch -Kalat), in believing he must defend the motherland and the existence of the nation, bravely fought with the enemy — the British— ultimately sacrificing his own life with his companions. This was the bitter answer of Mir Mihrab Khan to the hostile forces: that we own this land and we owe to defend it by any means possible. That day reminds us that choosing sacrifice over the slavery is a victory. The legacy which has been left behind by the martyrs of the Baloch nation on November 13, 1839 is being followed today with a spiritual awakening that will bring us to the greatest cause of national freedom.
In following the very footsteps of our ancestors we are consciously being inspired to embrace the martyrdom in protecting our cause— the national liberation struggle. Today, every Baloch including the Z-generation is all ready for any sacrifice for a stable future of the Baloch nation.

The Baloch nation’s every martyr is consciously attaining the highest level of sacrifice with a desire to make the nation and land free from the tyrannical State of Pakistan. As we know that Revolution is not a mere celebration but a process of action which undergoes through an endless series of sacrifices — among which martyrdom is the highest form. As everyone knows that death is an undeniable truth, so it is best to have a death which is worth value. Embracing the highest rank of martyrdom is the courageous act which, we believe, will pave the way for national liberation. No nation can forget the highest sacrifice of its fallen heroes, so, we must remember them in our thoughts, ideas, and most importantly in our actions— the process of struggle for the national liberation. The day reminds us of the unconditional dedication to the ultimate sacrifices. This dedication is the way towards the Baloch National Liberation.
