Martyr Zubair Zahid
The 16 years old fallen comrade
Zubair Baloch, son of Zahid Baloch, was born in 1995 in the heart of Baloch literary land, Pasni. He got his early education from his hometown. A FSc student at Inter College Pasni, he joined student politics and became an active member of the Baloch Students Organization Azad (BSO Azad), Pasni Zone.
From an early age, he actively participated the Baloch national cause and eagerly organised various political activities to mobilize the youth in support of the Baloch national struggle. Despite the loss of many close ideological comrades, and persistent warnings from occupying state security agencies. He was threatened to abandon the student politics and leave BSO Azad, but he never stepped back from the national struggle. He didn’t only remain committed but bravely came forward in those harsh days and organised the student politics in the region.
He followed his oath to never step back but confront every challenge for the greater cause of Balochistan’s liberation. He got this consciousness from the mature education of the organisation. Like other brave comrades of the organisation, he left his everything behind, and lived for the motherland till his last breath.
But his peaceful political activities were not seen as threat to the coloniser. On September 8, 2011, Zubair was forcibly disappeared by occupying Pakistani forces from Zero Point in Gwadar District, Balochistan. Nearly a month later, on October 3, 2011, his bullet riddled body, bearing severe signs of torture, was dumped in Gwadar District.
Baloch Students Organisation Azad pays richest tribute to the fallen comrade, Zubair Zahid for his national sacrifice for the motherland. His legacy is being followed by the brave comrades of the organisation. He will be remembered for his true and courageous role in the Baloch national liberation movement.
