The Baloch nation is enduring unbearable sufferings, particularly the enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings. The Pakistani security forces forcibly kidnap the Baloch people, torture them in an inhumane manner, and subsequently kill them extrajudicially. This is now one of the worst crimes ever committed against the Baloch people since the colonial occupation. The recent atrocities, massacres and enforced disappearances have reached a large extent, creating a crisis. The Baloch genocide has been carried out by the Pakistani state and its mouthpieces in Balochistan.

The recent case of Imran Ali is not an isolated one but rather the continuation of the Baloch genocide. Imran Ali resident of Zamuran, Kech was student of Social Work at University of Balochistan Quetta. He was forcibly disappeared on August 27, 2025 from A-One City, Quetta, and from that day his whereabouts have remained unknown. His family and friends protested against his forcible disappearance and campaigns were seen in social media. His family have been trying to find his whereabouts and were waiting for his safe release, but they came to know from a police official on August 6, 2026 that Imran Ali had been killed during a clash in May 2026. Which shows another fake encounter and hidden war crimes by Pakistani state. The official further confirmed that his dead body had been buried secretly somewhere because the body was about to decompose. This case was first publicly reported by international community, we can know there are thousands of such cases hidden by Pakistani state.

The family has been waiting for approximately a year to find some evidence about the whereabouts of their beloved one, but they are now begging for the victim’s grave and dead body. The ongoing inhuman atrocities against the Baloch nation have reached an unbearable level and are being carried out every day with impunity. The recent case of Imran Ali has provided concrete evidence that the victims of enforced disappearances are being killed and secretly buried by the Pakistani security forces in unknown locations without informing their families and relatives. When Imran Baloch was in state’s military custody, some of detainees who were later released had seen him in sever torture chambers of Pakistani state. There are eye witnesses of several cases but they are threatened by Pakistani state security officials to be silence.

This case is not a new one but rather another piece of evidence of extrajudicial killings and secret burials. It is the continuation of the mass graves of Tootak, Khuzdar, which were found in 2014. Then, suchlike graves were found in Dasht near Quetta in 2025, painted with numbers rather than names. Now the case of Imran Ali Baloch has been one of the most recent and concrete pieces of evidence of enforced disappearances, torture, extrajudicial killings, and subsequent secret burials. These are the proofs that Pakistan state is involved in hidden war crimes like extrajudicially killing Baloch detainees in secret and dumping their bodies to unknown locations.

There are hundreds of thousands of cases of enforced disappearances whose families are waiting for only an answer about the fate of their beloved ones, but the state has been trying to keep them uninformed about anything. This is why the state can easily kill anyone extrajudicially and bury them secretly with no information about the case given to the families. Such inhuman acts have brought about a serious situation regarding the fate of people who are victims of enforced disappearances. The case of Imran Baloch has created a fear among the victims’ families about the fate and safety of their loved ones.

The international community, including media, human rights groups and organisations, must hold the Pakistani state accountable for such cruel acts and crimes. They must intervene in Balochistan’s case to ensure humanitarian relief and protection of civilians, which is an essential part of human rights. The case of Imran Ali Baloch along with all other cases must not go unresolved and unanswered. The Baloch nation must now remember that their loved ones who have been forcibly disappeared are being secretly and extrajudicially killed and subsequently buried with no information given to families.
