An Unsung Revolutionary

Biography

Shaukat Buledai was born on 8th August, 1976, in a small but historic village of Menaz, Buleda, Balochistan. He opened his eyes in the house of Muhammad Usman and Hair Bibi. In a colonised land, he received his early education in his native village, then moved to Karachi for further education and completed his matriculation there.
He couldn’t continue his education due to financial issues, and moved to UAE for a job purpose. He secured a job at a bank, later he started a self owned small business. But there he began participating in political and literary activities and became social to the Baloch national cause through interacting Baloch political workers.

At the start of 21st century, Balochistan’s political landscape had a turning shift, Baloch students and mass politics turned into a more ideologically cleared direction. The surface politics began advocating for the liberation of Balochistan for the first time in Baloch national history. Shaukat could not resist this change but adopted the revolution, he returned to Balochistan after the martyrdom of his brother in law, Altaf Baloch. Martyr Altaf Baloch was killed by occupying Pakistani security forces in a public gathering, organised by Baloch National Front, on the martyrdom anniversary of Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti in Kech.

After returning from UAE, he actively participated in mass politics on the platform of Baloch National Movement. He became regional president of Kech region and worked on strengthening the mass politics. He later was twice elected as central committee member of the party in the 2010 and 2014 central council sessions. He played a revolutionary role in the party politics on regional and Balochistan level, working on organising the national movement through his political activities.

He got himself skilled in literature and media fields, and came forward practically by founding Sangar Publication. He launched Sangar Publication, publishing Sangar Magazine monthly, contributing ideological literature on the Baloch liberation movement. Organising the literary and digital media, he started Radio Sangar in digital form to cover the unheard stories of oppressed Baloch nation. Under the Sangar publication, he published magazines, journals, books and a digital newspaper on the name of Daily Sangar. He was working anonymously and silently in the literature and media fields.

Due to Pakistani state atrocities against Baloch political workers, he left the homeland and became exile in a foreign country. He was exiled, but his spirit and ideology were become more matured, there he continued his literary and media responsibilities under the banner of Sangar Publication. In one side, he was far from his homeland and exiled; a pain may not anyone feel, secondly he was on threats from colonial Pakistani state, and at last he was fighting an illness. He was targeted by assassination attempts from occupying Pakistani state twice in 2024, he got injured but survived. He fought against all three enemies but never stepped back from his national duty.

Living in exile, he became ill, indications of slow poising from the enemy and later passed away on October 5, 2025 in a hospital. No one knew about the founder of Sangar Publication and Baloch nation was not aware of such an anonymous revolutionary character until he left this world. He was far away from his beloved nation, silently working in exile until his last breath. Characters like Shaukat Buledai are real heroes who despite of such circumstances continue their contributions in Baloch national cause. BSO Azad pays tribute to such revolutionary characters and urge the Baloch journalists to follow his path.
